METdance’s Moving Myths is a one-hour journey through captivating legends based on traditional myths from across the globe. Moving Myths follows the interaction of four travelers from around the world who find each other and spend a night telling tales from their respective cultures. Moving Myths was written exclusively for METdance by author Elizabeth A.M. Keel. Focusing on themes of courage, the show’s characters will expose students to strong heroic ideas such as standing up to bullies, taking care of one’s family, fighting for love, and facing great danger. Moving Myths is an exciting experience perfect for students and audiences of all ages.
Houston’s Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park is unique in the United States, offering an eight-month season of professional entertainment that is artistically excellent, culturally diverse and always FREE of charge to the public. This is the largest “always free” program of its kind in the country.
Classical music, jazz, world music and dance, ballet, Shakespeare, musical theatre, classic films, and much, much more are included in this year’s outstanding line-up. Relax in the covered seating area or enjoy a pre-performance picnic on the hillside. All performances at Miller are family-friendly!
Seating for daytime performances of Moving Myths: Story Telling Through Dance is on a “first come, first served” basis for the covered seating area.
